Bryant's death, and that of his daughter Gianna and the seven others on board, was a devastating blow to sports fans and the nation as a whole. Since many of the hosts are located in Los Angeles, they were able to share personal stories about their time spent with the NBA star or revisit interview clips in his memory.

“It’s likely that you’re hearing many personal anecdotes about Kobe Bryant, so here’s mine,” ESPN’s Elle Duncan said during SportsCenter on Jan. 27, a day after the Los Angeles Lakers star and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant, were killed in a helicopter crash.
