Former TOWIE star Kirk Norcross has paid tribute to his late father Mick and spoke of how he made a promise to make his dad “proud” after he took his own life. Kirk, 34, has previously been open about his experience of PTSD following his dad’s death by suicide last January at the age of 57. Now the star has opened up further about the heartbreaking experience and shared how he hopes he can help others through becoming an ambassador for suicide prevention charity, Papyrus.
Revealing the emotional moment he lay next to his father’s body following his death, Kirk says: “My dad was my idol, he was my hero. “In some ways I’m pleased it was me who found him but it will be etched in my mind for the rest of my life. I tried to give him CPR but it was no good.
“When I realised he’d passed, I lay next to his body, kissed him on the head and said: ‘Thank you for everything you did dad and sorry for all I have done. I promise I'll do my best.’ Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter “I cuddled him for a while, run my fingers through his hair.
