‘Kids in the Hall’ Reboot Gets Premiere Date, Trailer (Video)

HBO’s Original two-part documentary “George Carlin’s American Dream” will debut later this month.Directed by Judd Apatow (“The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling”) and Michael Bonfiglio (“May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers”), the doc will air on HBO on back-to-back nights, with Part 1 premiering on Friday, May 20 at 8:00-9:55 p.m. ET/PT, followed by on Saturday, May 21, at the same time.Both episodes will be available to stream on HBO Max beginning Friday, May 20.

Oprah Winfrey Network announced that courtroom drama series All Rise, starring Simone Missick, returns for a third season on Tuesday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on OWN. 

“Yo! MTV Raps” is back. The legendary hip-hop series will be streaming on Paramount+ soon with all new episodes.The series will take a deep dive into the current state of hip-hop, featuring hosted segments from renowned battle rapper Conceited and DJ Diamond Kuts.

It will provide both camps with an appetizer for the Kids’ limited-run reboot of their original sketch series, which new episodes (featuring an array of name guest stars) launch May 13 on Amazon Prime, followed by this doc a week later (on May 20).

Netflix announced today that Joel Kim Booster’s stand-up special Joel Kim Booster: Psychosexual will debut on the streamer on June 21st.

HBO has set a June premiere date for Irma Vep, its limited series based on Olivier Assayas’ 1996 feature film, starring Alicia Vikander. Irma Vep, which will world premiere as an Official Selection at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, will debut on Monday, June 6 at 9 PM on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. Hulu’s docuseries on Victoria’s Secret has been added to its summer slate. “Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons” will debut on the streamer in July.The docuseries dives deep into the brand and its former CEO, Les Wexner.

“The Old Man,” the new drama series starring Jeff Bridges, will premiere on FX this summer, the network announced Thursday.The series will premiere June 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX with the first two episodes of its seven-episode season. The series will stream the following day on Hulu.

“Becoming Elizabeth,” Starz’s Tudor drama about a young royal, has a premiere date.The new series will debut on Sunday, June 12, the network announced Thursday. It will drop on the Starzapp and on streaming and on-demand at midnight, and air on linear at 9 p.m.

Queer As Folk, the latest reboot of the LGBTQ fan favourite has a premiere date set for Australian audiences. The new revamp of the iconic series is set to bow on Stan June 10.The reimagined series, now set in New Orleans, follows a fresh cast of characters and is said to “follow a diverse group of friends who find their lives transformed in the aftermath of a tragedy.”The series stars Devin Way, Jesse James Keitel, John Sibilly, Fin Argus, Candace Grace, and Ryan O’Connell, fresh of his well-received Netflix series Special.

AMC made a deal to secure the rights to 18 of the Anne Rice novels in “The Vampire Chronicles” and “Lives of Mayfair Witches” series. This means there is plenty of source material for multiple horror shows if the network wants to keep them going for years to come.

HBO Max has set a May premiere date for Season 2 of the Emmy-winning, critically acclaimed comedy series Hacks, starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder. The sophomore season will debut on Thursday, May 12 with two episodes. The eight-episode season continues with two new episodes a week, wrapping up on June 2, two days after the 2022 Emmy eligibility period ends.
