Despite people’s pleas for a bank holiday as a result of England reaching the Euros final, Downing Street has said it is not being considered. Boris Johnson’s official spokesman said: “We’ll be talking to the FA to identify a suitable way for the Prime Minister to thank the players and coaching staff for their efforts.” However, a bank holiday is “not something that is being considered,” following England’s heartbreaking defeat to Italy in the Euros final.
