Kevin Abstract returns with ominous rock song ‘Blanket’

Kevin Abstract has shared another new single – you can listen to ‘Running Out’ below.The song is the latest preview of the former Brockhampton member’s fourth solo album ‘Blanket’, which is due for release next Friday (November 3) via Video Store and RCA (pre-order/pre-save here).Abstract’s latest offering sees the artist go in an alternative rock direction, with the upbeat track containing crisp drums, a fuzzy bass-synth line and guitar.“I had a lot of reservations/ Saw God in my creations/ I ain’t recognise my graduation/ I’m gettin’ up and I’m runnin’ up/And I’m gettin’ up and I’m runnin’ out,” he sings in the first verse.Its chorus goes: “I go, I won’t take no time for no one/ Let go, this version of me/ This version of me-eh.” Tune in here:‘Running Out’ follows on from the previous single ‘What Should I Do?’ and the ‘Blanket’ title track.In a previous statement, Abstract explained of his upcoming album: “I wanted to make, like, a Sunny Day Real Estate, Nirvana, Modest Mouse type of record. The Wombles is set to recieve a modern remake half century after the original series aired.As reported by Deadline, the new reboot is being written by How to Train Your Dragon’s Will Davies and produced by Altitude TV, and will once again centre on Uncle Bulgaria and co. in their underground home in Wimbledon Common.The outlet confirmed that the new version will modernise the series, although no further details have yet been revealed.Based on the characters created by Elisabeth Beresford in her series of children’s novels that were published between 1968 and 1976, The Wombles originally aired between 1973 and 1975 on BBC1, with the late Bernard Cribbins narrating.The Wombles has since returned on a couple of occasions — first in a reboot in the late ’90s and then a short-lived CGI version that was intended for release in 2015 but was ultimately cut short due to financial complications.In addition to TV appearances, The Wombles also saw success with a number of popular novelty songs, including 1974’s ‘Remember You’re A Womble’.

aespa have announced their next comeback with their latest EP ‘Drama’, which will be released next month.The record will be the SM Entertainment girl group’s fourth EP and will follow May’s ‘MY WORLD’ EP.‘Drama’ will be released on November 10 and will include six songs encompassing a variety of genres. “aespa will showcase more mature vocal charms and musical colours,” SM Entertainment said in a press release (per Yonhap News Agency).Further details about the record, including its tracklist and title track, are yet to be revealed.The ‘Drama’ EP will succeed aespa’s recent single ‘Better Things’, which marked their second release of 2023 and found the four-piece declaring: “I’ve got better things to do with my time than you.”Prior to ‘Better Things’, the group shared their third EP ‘MY WORLD’.

Kevin Abstract played his first solo show in six years this week, where he performed only new, unreleased songs with a rock-orientated sound. Check out the fan-shot footage below.The former Brockhampton member took to the stage at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday night (September 27) to deliver a special 10-track gig.Abstract, who hadn’t played a full solo gig since 2017, was joined on stage by a full band as he ran through a set of guitar-heavy new tracks.

Earlier this month *NSync, the boyband comprising Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone, announced their return after more than two decades away. The reunited boyband have now shared "Better Place," their first new material since the “Girlfriend” remix featuring Nelly dropped in 2002.
