BBC 5 Live listeners have been left gutted after Simon Mayo announced that his long running Film Review show, hosted with Mark Kermode, will end next month.
First airing in 2001, the show is broadcast on Friday afternoons and features reviews of new releases, as well as interviews with special guests.
The last episode will take place on April 1, Simon revealed. He added that the decision to end the show was their own.

Announcing the decision, Simon said: “21 years is a long time to be clogging up the schedules. We - and no one else - have decided to step away…to withdraw…to spread our wings…to exit, pursued by a bear.”
The news was met with disappointment and well wishes from fans.
Adam Walton said: “The chemistry between you both is unique. You show how male broadcasters can be authoritative without ever talking down to us; and funny without ever punching down.
“I'll miss Friday afternoons with you so so much, but wish you both all the best for the future. Thank you x”
Julie Broadfoot said: “I cannot handle this news. Reassured by @simonmayo and @KermodeMovie’s tweets but I am in shock.”
AlisonTsang tweeted: “What?!! Wahhh..!! While completely understanding this from your point of view, this is such gutting news. You've walked with me for so many parts of my life, you're woven into so much of my story. I feel part of your community.
“I'm going to miss your weekly bickering so much.”
However, both presenters hinted that the show could return in the future, posting identical tweets saying they will “be back”.
The tweet, shared on both of their accounts, said: “After 21 years (and as many drummers) the Flagship Film Show
