Keanu Reeves appeared at Comic-Con on Friday to talk about BRZRKR, his comic from Boom! Studios. The book is written by Reeves and Ron Garney and follows half-god/half-man B. as he wars through the ages.
Here’s the official summary: The man known only as B. is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence — even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the world for centuries, the Berzerker finally might have found a refuge: working for the U.S. government to fight battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B. will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence, and how to end it.

Netflix is working on a BRZRKR film adaptation that Reeves will star in and produce. There’s also a spinoff anime series coming to Netflix, with Reeves voicing the main character. When the panel started, Boom! Studios showed clips from various pages of the book, with Reeves providing voice over.
Panel moderator Coy Jerdenau mentioned that it’s one of the first times Hall H has featured a comic panel that didn’t revolve around Marvel or DC.
Joining Reeves and Jerdenau onstage were Matt Kindt, Ron Garney, Matt Gagnon, Eric Harburn, Mattson Tomlin and Stephen Christy.
“I had this idea of a character who can punch you through the chest and rip arms off who was cursed with violence [and is] trying to figure out who they are and reclaim their humanity,” said Reeves. “I met with Boom! in 2017 and pitched it. They agreed to try to put it together, and it took a couple of years.”
Co-writer Kindt talked about what drew him to the project.
“When Reeves pitched the idea, it’s the twist at the very end that caught my attention and

Keanu Reeves‘ kind gesture to an 80-year-old fan has resurfaced online after being shared in a Reddit post.On the website, one person explained how their grandmother had developed a crush on the Matrix and John Wick star, since he reminded her of her late husband. After suffering a stroke in her early 70s, the grandmother was rendered housebound for 10 years of her life, but found comfort in Reeves’ movies, watching everything from Bill And Ted to The Matrix. The Reddit user then went onto explain how their uncle bumped into the Reeves at a restaurant in Los Angeles, and how it led to a lengthy phone conversation between the actor and his elderly fan.“Not too long after The Matrix came out my uncle was in LA for business and was eating at a really swanky restaurant when Keanu came in with a woman,” they wrote.“When he finished his meal my uncle came up to their table and said, ‘I don’t usually do this, but I just wanted you to know that my 80-year-old mother loves you and has seen all of your movies. You remind her of my dad.’“He said Keanu asked if he had a cell phone on him and when he confirmed that he did, he said, ‘Give her a call, I want to talk to her.’“He spoke with my grandmother for several minutes and it absolutely made her year.

Actor Keanu Reeves is experiencing a big career renaissance, the Reevolution if you like. It’s mostly thanks to the popularity of his “John Wick” franchise, focusing on a skilled and feared assassin that is begrudgingly pulled back into the fray.
“John Wick: Chapter 4” won’t be in theaters until next spring, but the first footage was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday. While the movie didn’t have an official presence at Comic-Con, there was a surprise appearance by Keanu Reeves on Collider’s Directors on Directing panel, where he and director Chad Stahelski debuted a new trailer. The trailer opens with John Wick (Reeves) in the snow. He’s talking to Hiroyuki Sanada (who fans of the franchise will know was originally pegged as the villain for the third film; here he seems much more serene), who says, “Have you given any thought to where this ends?” (His dialogue serves as the teaser trailer’s narration.) He goes on: “The Table will never stop.” Wick, at the end of the third film, was on the outs of the sinister High Table, even after paying a debt of part of a finger.
