Katie Piper is back on screens every weekend to present her ITV show Katie Piper's Breakfast Show. The third series of the morning talk show will air every Saturday and Sunday and see the 40-year-old sit down with a variety of celebrity guests for fascinating conversations.
Although she is a staple on TV today, having been a Loose Women panellist since 2021, sadly Katie is most known for the tragic event which devastated her life back in 2008. The then 24-year-old had a career in modelling, taking part in various fashion, glamour and shoots for national newspapers as well as working as a presenter on small digital TV channels.
As her career began to develop, Katie moved away from her family home in Hampshire and began to live with friends in a flat North London. In March 2008, she was attacked with acid by her ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch and accomplice Stefan Sylvestre.

The attack put her in an induced coma for 12 days and she had to undergo skin graft procedures. Katie suffered major damage to her face and was left blind in one eye, on top of the severe emotional trauma she endured.
Both attackers were convicted and given life sentence but in 2018, Stefan Sylvestre was released after serving nine years in prison. Following the horrific ordeal, Katie underwent pioneering surgery and has had to continue doing so over the last 16 years to restore her face and vision.
As well as the devastating acid attack, Katie had also been sexually assaulted by her ex. Although she had the right to remain anonymous because of the law around sexual assault, in 2009 she decided to waive her anonymity in an attempt to increase awareness
