Leading lady Kate Middleton has always been a huge champion of the British high-street, often mixing in much loved brands such as Marks & Spencer and Boden in amongst designer favourites such as Alexander McQueen and Mulberry.

Duchess of Sussex Harry returned to the UK from the US earlier this week, while his pregnant wife Meghan Markle remains in the US following physician’s advice.

While things have been frosty between them for years, relations became even more strained in the past months after Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle threw a metaphorical grenade into the Royal Family with their explosive tell-all interview with Oprah last month.

You’d probably assume that someone who does as many royal appointments as the Queen has a make-up artist on-hand to help make sure foundation is blended and lipstick applied perfectly. But in fact, Queen Elizabeth, much like Kate Middleton, prefers to do her own make-up for the most part of the year.The only exception is her annual Christmas Day broadcast, when she apparently asks make-up artist Marilyn Widdess for expert help.
