The Queen is said to be hosting a lavish birthday bash for Kate Middleton and Prince William as the royal couple celebrate turning 40 within six months of each other.The Duchess of Cambridge turned 40 at the beginning of the year, while the Duke celebrates his birthday today, Tuesday 21 June. Kate’s thought to have held “scaled back” birthday celebrations back in January, but will now “celebrate in style” with her husband as Her Majesty The Queen, 96, will allow the pair to have a party at either Windsor Castle or at Sandringham.

The celebration – which honors the Queen’s 70 years on the throne – kicked off on Thursday with the Trooping the Colour ceremony.  Middleton stunned during the ceremony in a white Alexander McQueen coat dress, paired with her late mother-in-law’s diamond and sapphire earrings. A royal comparison! Prince Louis’ reaction to flyover planes at the Trooping the Colour parade was reminiscent of another moment at his parents’ 2011 wedding.
