Kanye West Donates $2 Million to Families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery

Gianna Floyd, the six-year-old daughter of George Floyd, has thanked Kanye West for paying for her college education.The rapper has promised to fully cover the tuition fees for the daughter of African-American man Floyd, after the Minnesota resident died at the hands of a police officer last month.

Like many other celebrities, Jennifer Aniston has also come out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and has donated USD 1 million to several Racial Justice Charities after George Floyd's death. The Murder Mystery actress has stood against police brutality and racial injustice ever since the protests started raging across US after George Floyd died on May 25 in Minneapolis.

Beyoncé delivered a special message to graduates during YouTube's Class of 2020 broadcast.She spoke about starting her own business as a Black woman, and paid tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement.YouTube's Class of 2020 streamed on June 7, 2020, and featured appearances from Barack and Michelle Obama, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Yara Shahidi, Billy Porter, Kerry Washington, Lizzo, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry.

George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, as CNN reports. West has also established a fund to fully cover college tuition for Floyd's 6-year-old daughter, Gianna.

People Magazine confirmed the news that West established a 529 college savings plan that will fully cover the tuition for Gianna Floyd, and his representative told the magazine that West has donated to local, black-owned businesses in his hometown in Chicago and nationwide that were hit by the coronavirus crisis and the protests.West was also seen marching with Black Lives Matter supporters in protest over the death of Floyd on Thursday.

Kanye West was among hundreds of others who protested in Chicago on June 4. The rapper kept a low profile as he joined a crowd of protesters for George Floyd and Black Lives Matter. A local Chicago morning show host, Kendra G, shot video of Kanye marching. He stayed silent while wearing a protective face mask and the hood of his sweatshirt pulled up.

The $2m has been provided to charities associated with Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.

Kanye West has been working behind the scenes to contribute to the Black Lives Matter movement.  While the outspoken rapper has not tweeted since early March, E! News confirms West donated $2 million in relation to the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor and has been donating to several black-owned businesses in his Chicago hometown.   West, a father of four, also set up a college savings fund to cover tuition for Floyd's 6-year-old daughter, Gianna.

Kanye West, 42, opened up his bank account on Thursday (June 4) and donated $2 million to charities associated with Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, the three recent black men, and women killed by police officers. Kanye also pledged to cover legal costs for the Arbery and Taylor families, a rep for the rapper told Variety, and he’s set up a college fund to cover tuition for George Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter, Gianna.

A Forbes headline from earlier this year declared that "Kanye West is now officially a billionaire (and he really wants the world to know)." This was further backed up by the magazine's new "The Celebrity 100" list it unveiled today (June 4), placing West as the highest-paid musician in the world and the second-highest paid celebrity.
