Kane Brown Talks Historic VMAs Performance, and If He'll Crossover to Pop Music (Exclusive)

Michaela Zee editor Kane Brown is set to receive the 2022 Champion of the Youth Award at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s 75th National Youth of the Year gala, Variety has learned exclusively. The award will be presented to Brown, an avid supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, by Courtney B. Vance. The ceremony, which is typically held in Washington, D.C., will take place in Los Angeles, with Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner set to host and name the 2022 National Youth of the Year. The annual event honors teens awarded on the local, state and regional levels, where one finalist will claim the national title. “For 75 years, we’ve recognized courageous young people who establish themselves as leaders and changemakers, not only in their local communities, but all across the nation,” said Jim Clark, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “This year, we’re thrilled to move the celebration to Los Angeles, honoring our National Youth of the Year with many trusted youth advocates and national leaders.”

The 2023 Stagecoach Festival lineup was announced today for the 15th edition of the country music festival. Headlining will be Luke Bryan, his fourth time as a top billing, with Kane Brown and Chris Stapleton moving up to claim main attraction status as well.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic The lineup for the 2023 Stagecoach Festival includes one very familiar veteran of the festivities, Luke Bryan, who will be making his fourth headlining appearance in the California desert, along with two stars who have made regular appearances at the festival but have moved up into headliner slots for the first time, Kane Brown and Chris Stapleton. Goldenvoice announced the performers and dates for the ’23 gathering Monday morning, just a little more than four months after the 2022 festival took place. The next fest will take place April 28 – 30, 2023, with passes going on sale Friday at 10 a.m. PT. Prices for passes range from $389 for advance general admission to $1,499 for the GA standing pit and $1,999 for prime reserved seating.

Luke Bryan, Kane Brown and Chris Stapleton are set to headline the three-night fest, which runs April 28-30, 2023 at Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. Festival passes will go on sale Friday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m.

Kane Brown delivered a historic moment at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, becoming the first male country artist to perform on the show since its 1984 inception. Prior to this Sunday's event, Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift had previously been the only country acts to score a performance placement on the high-profile MTV ceremony. Following a branded mixed-reality promo set to his 2020 hit, «Be Like That,» Brown performed his pop-inspired single, «Grand» in front of a live audience in nearby Fort Lee, New Jersey.
