Ravi is leaving VIXX.
The 30-year-old South Korean entertainer exited the boy band amid controversdy, his agency Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed in a statement on Tuesday (April 11).
“Hello. This is Jellyfish Entertainment. We sincerely thank the fans who support VIXX, and we inform you of member Ravi’s departure from VIXX,” the statement began.
“After careful discussion between Ravi and the agency, it was decided that he will leave the team as of today. We deeply apologize for causing trouble to the fans who support VIXX.”
Earlier in the year, it was reported that the member of the boy band was being accused of attempting to evade military service. A group of brokers was arrested on charges of corruption, allegedly sending their clients to a neurologist for a false medical diagnosis to help them be exempted from military service. They promoted their services by saying they were used by a famous idol, revealed to be Ravi.
The first trial was held for eight individuals including Ravi on charges of violating the Military Service Act. The prosecution requested two-year prison sentences for Ravi, via Soompi.
He then posted a letter to apologize for his actions.
