If you’ve watched The Matrix Resurrection, you might remember a scene where the character Smith (played by Jonathan Groff) takes a jab at Warner Bros possibly leaving Lana and Lilly Wachowski (the originators of The Matrix franchise) behind to direct another Matrix film. Well, turns out that’s not just hyperbole.In a recent interview with Collider, Resurrections producer James McTeigue admits that WB had plans to assign a different director.

The Matrix Resurrections – has opened up about the “quarter life crisis” she experienced before picking up her role in the newly released sequel, saying she almost quit acting.In a new interview with /Film, the 29-year-old explained that she “was in a weird space” around the time she was offered the role as Bugs, noting that she “wasn’t really sure what [she] wanted to do” after 14 years of acting.

“The Matrix Resurrections” definitely ups the complexity by allowing another meta layer to be factored in on top of all the high octane action sequences and philosophical quandaries.
