The trailer for Amber Heard’s first film release, since her and ex-husband Johnny Depp’s widely-televised defamation trial, has been released.

But cut to six years after #MeToo started, and we’re in a space where Johnny Depp—who was the subject of a deeply damaging Rolling Stone article about his questionable behavior that he himself agreed to smooth over his reputation, but basically did the opposite— is the hero and Amber Heard is somehow a villain and pariah after losing the defamation trial against her ex-husband for his various abuses.

Hulu on Thursday launched “Top 15 Today,” a collection of trending movies and TV series that will be updated daily. Topping the first list are Hulu original series “Only Murders in the Building,” starring Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short, followed by FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham” and Hulu’s “The Other Black Girl.” Three “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, starring Johnny Depp, are on today’s list: the first installment, “The Curse of the Black Pearl”; “Dead Man’s Chest”; and “At World’s End.” (See full list below.) The movie, which was acquired by Neon at Cannes, was pre-selected alongside “The Taste of Things” (previously titled “The Pot-au-Feu,” a culinary romance starring Juliette Binoche which won best director at Cannes for French-Vietnamese filmmaker Trần Anh Hùng); “The Scent of Green Papaya”; Clement Cogitore’s “Goutte d’or”; Thomas Cailley’s supernatural coming-of-age drama “The Animal Kingdom”; and Denis Imbert’s “Sur les chemins noirs.” The year’s selection committee includes sales agents Sabine Chemaly and Tanja Meissner, producers Charles Gillibert and Patrick Wachsberger, directors Olivier Assayas and Mounia Meddour, and Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat.

Paul King, director of Wonka, is teasing the film and Timothée Chalamet’s singing voice. The filmmaker compared Chalamet to Bing Crosby.

He was 81. In 2019, Bloom retired along with his partner Alan Hergott while the firm was still in the midst of litigation with former client Depp.

Jake Bloom, the founding partner of Bloom, Hergott LLP, the largest and most successful entertainment law firm in Hollywood history, died today of natural causes at his home in Sun Valley, Idaho. He was 81 years old.
