John Oliver Goes After Amazon In Latest Coronavirus Rant On ‘Last Week Tonight’

The funeral for a hero Scots NHS worker who spent more than 30 years caring for others before passing away from suspected coronavirus has taken place.

Television’s weirdest and most unexpected love-fest was unveiled on the weekend when John Oliver sent daytime talk show host Wendy Williams a heartfelt shout-out on his HBO comedy series “Last Week Tonight”.

John Oliver was the guest of honor on Tuesday morning’s all new Wendy @ Home with Wendy Williams. The daytime talk show host, 55, and the Last Week Tonight host, 43, have become fast friends through their back-and-forth on their respective shows. After John recently declared his love for her show — describing Wendy’s daytime banter as “an oasis of truth in a world full of lies” — she gifted him with a few of her favorite items.

Wendy Williams showed love to John Oliver after he spent several minutes during his Sunday night show to rant about how authentic she is. “So, there’s this guy, his name is John Oliver and I don’t know whether you know who he is but he’s wildly popular,” Wendy, 55, introduced John during her April 21 Wendy @ Home show.  “He knows who our show is, he gets our messiness and I love that,” she said.
