“There’s a medic situation right here. Stop for a second. Are they conscious? Give me a thumbs-up if they’re alert. Need an AED? Well, that’s not someone who’s alert,” John said in the middle of “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.”
“I’m going to step off the stage for a second,” he added, as paramedics came in to assist the woman and she was placed in a wheelchair. John returned to the stage a few minutes later and addressed the incident again.
“Anyone in the crowd who’s worried — I’m told that she’s up and waved goodbye, so she’s OK. The system works, thank you very much,” he said.
John then started up his set again, thanking friends and fans for coming out to support him. You can watch the whole video down below.
There has been increased focus on artists identifying potential problems from stage in the wake of November’s Astroworld tragedy, the Travis Scott concert where 10 audience members tragically passed away.
