John Lafia, who directed and co-wrote the horror film Child’s Play 2 died by suicide on Wednesday, April 29 in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. He was 63.
The coroner’s office listed Lafia’s cause of death as hanging and said he was found in his basement. In a statement Saturday, his family confirmed his passing.
