Jeremy Vine was rushed to hospital at the weekend after a bike accident left him unconscious. The 56 year old presenter and Channel 5 star thankfully didn't suffer any lasting effects and was sent home to recover. Despite being knocked off his penny farthing and landing on his head, the TV personality was left with minor injuries and a black eye.
Jeremy, who regularly posts footage and images from his rides on his hobby bike, fell from eight feet up due to the size and shape of his vintage vehicle. Luckily he was wearing a helmet during his fall, which involved flying forward over the handlebars.
Plunging down onto the grass face-first, Jeremy has said the details other than that are "blurry". Onlookers immediately gathered round to get the broadcaster medical assistance following a dramatic crash. Speaking on today's Jeremy Vine show via video link, the host told viewers: "I've been in the wars a little bit, as my mum would say.
"I didn't see the divot, my front wheel went into it and I went over the handlebars and landed on my head, crowd gathered." Jeremy was taken to Charing Cross Hospital where doctors proceeded to carry out scans on his brain, spine and heart.
