Director Rian Johnson confirmed that Daniel Craig’s popular Knives Out sleuth Benoit Blanc is Queer during a press conference at the London Film Festival.

Selome Hailu Karis Jagger and Fabienne Toback have entered a first look deal with Lionsgate Television. Under the deal, they will develop and produce unscripted and documentary programming under their production banner Hey Sistah Productions. Lionsgate’s Pilgrim Media Group, which focuses on unscripted programming, will provide development support and serve as production services entity for sold projects.     Jagger and Toback are best known for producing “High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America,” a Netflix documentary series based on Dr. Jessica Harris’ book of the same name. The series follows food writer Stephen Satterfield on a culinary journey alongside chefs, historians and activists that celebrates the courage, artistry and resourcefulness of the African American people.

EXCLUSIVE: Disney Branded Television is reuniting with longtime former VP Original Series Kory Lunsford with a new comedy series and a first-look deal. Disney has picked up to series Pretty Freekin Scary, a multi-camera sitcom based on the popular books, from CakeStart Entertainment, where Lunsford serves as president and partner, and Cloudco Entertainment. Lunsford left Disney after nearly 20 years in May 2021 to join the newly formed CakeStart.

Former EastEnders' star Danniella Westbrook has landed her first acting gig in six years after her EastEnders role was recast.The actress is headed to the West End to play the Fairy Godmother in adult pantomime, Sinderfella which has been dubbed a “delightful and risqué version" of Disney's Cinderella. Danniella, 48, will play the role alongside Big Brother's Simon Gross who is cast as one of the Ugly Sisters and a show insider said the former soap star "couldn't wait to get back to her acting roots".The source told The Sun: "She is nervous as she hasn't acted since she returned to EastEnders back in 2016, but her passion has always been acting so she is super excited for this next chapter of her career." Discovery Access Music Supervisor program, which gives creative voices from historically underrepresented communities the training and tools to gain experience in television and film music supervision. The six selected participants, Mjeema Pickett, Tiffany Gouché, A.D. Johnson, Matthew Wang, Nikki Marshall and Willy Rodriguez, will participate in a curriculum developed by an advisory board of music supervisors Paul Broucek, President of Music, Warner Bros. Pictures; Bronwyn Savasta, SVP, Music, Warner Bros. Television; and Evyen Klean, Founder, Neophonic. The cohort will learn about production, IP management, publishing, soundtracks, deal negotiation in addition to music masters, record labels, research, clearance and licensing. The program will also allow participants to gain hands-on training in an experience that will assist in their future career goals in entertainment. After completing a string of Masterclasses, the cohort will be able to shadow a WBD music supervisor on a show or feature, through a partnership with HBO, HBO Max, WBTV and Warner Bros. Pictures.
