“There is no circumstance under which a clip of Jen Shah from her appearance on the RHOSLC should be used in court as these clips do not have any of the indicia of reliability,” her lawyers said in the docs.
Jen‘s legal team stated that she is portraying a fictionalized version of herself that is “molded by the requirements of being on the RHOSLC.” They went on to say that the show has been “highly curated and edited to satisfy” its dramatic storylines.
“The women and their lives are both real and fake and it is impossible to tell where reality ends and fantasy and outright deception and fakery begins,” the filing continues, adding that RHOSLC is “highly edited and crafted through post-production.”
Last year, Jen and her assistant Stuart Smith were arrested for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering in an alleged telemarketing scam. Jen has maintained her innocence and pleaded not guilty to the charges, while Stuart recently changed his plea to guilty. His sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place on March 3.
Jen‘s filing comes after Bravo released a drama-filled trailer for the RHOSLC season 2 reunion, in which Andy Cohen can be seen grilling the reality star on her ongoing legal battle.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion is set to air Sunday, February 27 at 9/8c and you can see the full trailer here.

Page Six reported that Jen, via her team, filed court documents asking a judge to exclude any footage of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" from airing in the courtroom. "The defense opposes the use in evidence of any clips from the RHOSLC," her legal team said in a filing this week, adding that footage "would have to fall under one of the exceptions to the hearsay rule of evidence, as they are, by definition, out-of-court statements."Further, her team argued that the popular show is "highly edited and crafted through post-production" and snippets "do not have any of the indicia of reliability."In March 2021, Jen was arrested and charged with committing wire fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors alleged that she scammed hundreds of people, mostly the elderly, out of millions of dollars as part of a telemarketing scheme.
