Grammy nominee Jelly Roll almost spent Thanksgiving in the doghouse.
The singer was in charge of securing some delicious stuffing from Barr’s Music City Soul Food in Nashville. And then, he forgot.
The power of celebrity was then invoked, along with the promise of a bribe.
“Alright y’all, I f***** up and I need your help,” he wrote on social media. “I’m a husband, so I did what husbands do. I told my wife I would take care of the dressing.”
By the time he got around to it, no one was answering the phone at Barr’s, throwing Mr. Roll into a panic.
“We need help,” he wrote. “Please, if you have a contact at Barr’s Music City Soul Food in Nashville. It’s the best dressing ever.”
On TikTok, he resorted to a bribe. “‘Tell that lady I’ll give her a thousand dollars for two pans of Barr’s Music City Soul Food dressing for my family on Thanksgiving. Somebody in Nashville knows this lady. Please help me.”
Restaurant owner Frederick Barr heard the plea, and said the payment was enough for the restaurant to prepare two last-minute pans of his famous dressing.
The pans were picked up Wednesday by a Jelly Roll associate.
Dear Nashville does anyone have a plug BARRS MUSIC CITY SOUL FOOD- I’ll pay someone handsomely to help me convince them to make me some dressing for thanksgiving
