EJ Panaligan editor In light of recent sexual misconduct accusations against Arcade Fire lead singer Win Butler, the band’s current opener Feist has announced she is exiting the tour on Thursday. “To stay on tour would symbolize I was either defending or ignoring the harm caused by Win Butler, and to leave would imply I was the judge and jury,” Feist wrote in an Instagram post, detailing her decision to leave the tour. “I was never here to stand for or with Arcade Fire — I was here to stand on my own two feet on a stage, a place I’ve grown to feel I belong and I’ve earned as my own. I play for my band, my crew, their loved ones and all of our families and the people who pay their hard-earned money to share space in the collective synergy that is a show. The ebb and flow of my successes, failures and other decisions affect all of our livelihoods and I recognize how lucky I am to be able to travel the world singing songs about my life, my thoughts and experiences and have that be my career. I’ve never taken that for granted.”

After over two decades on CNN and an exposing 2020 digital scandal Jeffrey Toobin is leaving CNN.

The announcement comes just over a year after a shamed Toobin returned to CNN following eight months off air due to the writer being seen masturbating in an online New Yorker staff meeting. The venerated magazine fired long time contributor and Emmy winner Toobin in November 2020. The then Jeff Zucker-run CNN did suspend or pink slip Toobin at the time, but officially merely agreed to his request for some time off.
When Toobin slipped back on CNN in June 2021 he called his action “deeply moronic and indefensible,” and that “I didn’t think I was on the call. I didn’t think other people could see me.”
While the True Crimes and Misdemeanors, the Investigation of Donald Trump author was contrite when he started appearing back on TV, it was clear that a number of on-air talent and executives were uncomfortable with his presence on the channel. Though Toobin supplied commentary just a few days ago on Anderson Cooper’s show, his time at CNN was already looking limited with the new regime of former Late Show producer Chris Licht, sources tell me.
“We are grateful for Jeffrey’s contributions to the network over the years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” bloodlessly said the Warner Bros Discovery-owned CNN after Toobin made his departure public
Expectations had been that Toobin would not see his current contract CNN renewed. Today, he jumped instead of waiting to be pushed.

Lady In The Lake was paused on Friday (August 26) in Baltimore after an unknown assailant brandished a gun a crew members.Production on the Apple TV+ series, which stars Natalie Portman, Moses Ingram, Y’Lan Noel, Mikey Madison and Brett Gelman, was halted as a precautionary measure.Variety reports that the Baltimore police department confirmed to the publication that a group of locals approached producers working a shoot on Park Avenue in the downtown area at around 4pm on Friday.The group threatened to return that evening to shoot somebody if filming didn’t stop, and they also told crew that $50,000 would have to be paid before production could resume.The Park Avenue shoot has since be scrapped and another location is being sought following the threat, the police added.Series producer Endeavor Content said in a statement: “Friday afternoon, on the Baltimore set of our production Lady In The Lake, prior to the arrival of the cast and crew, per their call time, a driver on our production crew was confronted by two men, one of whom brandished a gun directed at our driver, and then they fled the location.“We are working with the Baltimore Police Department as the investigation is ongoing. The safety and security of our crew, cast and all who work across our productions is our highest priority, and we are thankful no one was injured.
