On May 25, George Floyd, a black man in Minneapolis, Minnesota, died during his arrest by a white . Former Minneapolis cop, Derek Chauvin, was filmed pinning Floyd to the ground by kneeling on his neck for nearly nine minutes, even after the 49-year-old truck driver was unconscious.
