Jason Momoa is diving deep into Hawaiian history for Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ has given a straight-to-series order to the series, titled Chief of War.

Created by Jason and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, the eight-episode Chief of War follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.
According to Variety, Jason and Thomas will also executive produce with Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Erik Holmberg, and Doug Jung.
Doug is also set to serve as showrunner with Justin Chon to direct the first two episodes.
Chief of War is the first time Jason has written for television.
Currently, Jason stars in Apple TV+’s drama series, See.
Just recently, Jason opened up in a rare interview about the status of his relationship with estranged wife Lisa Bonet.
