Robert Downey Sr., the director of the anti-establishment satirical classic Putney Swope and the father of actor Robert Downey Jr., died today in his sleep at home in New York City. He was 85.

Robert Downey, Sr. has sadly passed away, his wife confirmed to the New York Daily News. He was married to bestselling author Rosemary Rogers, who was home at the time of his death.

Richard Donner has sadly died at the age of 91.
