The celebrity chef pretended to be irritated after Merlin - who is a bartender on the hit E4 show - asked a question about air fryers. James, 51, was joined by Merlin, 49, and fellow celebrity chef Romy Gill on his show, Saturday Morning with James Martin, on Saturday, 23 March. After his walk off, James returned to the studio. He gave Romy a pat on the back and had a laugh with the production team.

He even once claimed that the cooking devices - a small countertop oven designed to simulate deep frying without submerging the food in oil - "should be banned".
