ITV weather presenter Ruth Dodsworth has revealed she has installed alarms "everywhere" at her home as her "dangerous" ex-husband is due to be released from prison. Ruth's former partner Jonathan Wignall was jailed in April 2021 after a nine-year campaign of harassment and stalking during their marriage.The ITV star's ex pleaded guilty to one count of coercive and controlling behaviour and stalking. Wignall, 55, set alerts for Ruth's TV appearances, accessed her phone with her fingerprint as she slept and tracker her car.

He was jailed for three years at Cardiff Crown Court but, Ruth revealed he was told to serve half his sentence and was able to apply for early release four and a half months into his jail time. Now Ruth has told her Twitter followers she has been speaking with South Wales Police and installing alarms "everywhere" in her home.
Ruth shared a photo of some wall art in her home which reads "It's all good" as she shared the update with her followers. She wrote: "Exactly 1 year ago today my ex husband pleaded guilty to stalking and #coercivecontrol . "I’ve spent this aft with @swpolice learning how to protect my home/family ahead of his possible imminent release.That’s our reality.
