The latest celeb taking part in the 2023 series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, Grace Dent, has landed in Australia. The Masterchef star, 50, is ready for her jungle adventure, despite previously criticising the show. As she touched down in Oz, she said: "My flight was amazing, I feel very well rested.
I've eaten very well. "I've been stocking up on delicious tastes because I'm wondering when I'm gonna taste them again. "I think it's going to be a real challenge.
For the last week I've been eating in the most wonderful restaurants in London, you know, five course dinners, all the wonderful foods that London offers. "So, I think it's maybe gonna be a bit of a shock to my system, but it's gonna be okay. It's okay, I eat well, all the time I could do with a change of diet." Grace has previously slammed the show, branding it “a puerile venture into starvation, televised constipation and animal cruelty, abbreviated by ads for Iceland £1 curries.” In 2012, the food critic and journalist said: “I snap my blinds firmly shut before settling down to watch I’m a Celeb, in fear the theme tune alone devalues my property.” However, it seems she has firmly changed her tune and insisted she's always been a fan of the show, explaining why she's signed up.
Grace said: "I mean I've made jokes about everything because that's what I do. "Like Big Brother, and soaps, I always did that from the place of someone that really loved them, and really watched them. "I think the quote you're talking about from 2011, was about a piece about how much I love the show, (Im A Celeb) right? Because my parents loved to show.
"Yeah. And they watched it, it was their favourite show ever. So, Why now? Because I'm this age.
