The ITV Granada News was suddenly pulled off air on Tuesday night (May 9) after an alarm sounded in the studio telling those inside to evacuate.
Confused viewers took to Twitter shortly after 10.30pm as Gamal Fahnbulleh was presenting the nightly news bulletin for the region.
Those watching the show were puzzled after a fire alarm siren sounded in the background before the team had to evacuate, with the the show immediately cutting off and switching to a Yorkshire ITV news programme.

ITV Granada later tweeted about the incident, writing: "Apologies to all watching our late news tonight, as you may have been able to hear a fire alarm went off in the building and our team had to evacuate. Thanks to our colleagues at @itvcalendar for taking over our broadcast."
@liamholsgrove2 tweeted: "so did we all just hear that noise on itv? #itvnews" as @admant1534 responded: "Yes Itv granada news as been pulled, siren in background was calling for the building to be evacuated."
@L02394503 posted: "what happened with the ITV Granada news tonight? Was there an incident in the studio? Hope all ok?" as @KopCraftsman added: "We seem to be getting Yorkshire after some kind of alert in Granada's building."
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for details.
