Famous reality TV star Fern Britton has opened up about the exact moment that ultimately led to the end of her marriage with Phil Vickery. Fern, 66, who is starring on Celebrity Big Brother, has been married twice but was with her TV chef husband for 20 years. She's all about living it up and enjoying her single life, but before Fern was married to her first husband TV boss Clive Jones.
The couple were together for over a decade and welcomed three children - twin boys Jack and Harry, and their sister Grace.
Back in 2000, the very same year Fern signed off on her divorce with Clive, she said 'I do' to TV chef Phil Vickery.
They met thanks to BBC Two's Ready Steady Cook and welcomed a daughter together named Winnie. They were together for 20 years but fans were left gobsmacked when the two announced their surprise split in 2020, reports the Mirror. Although it sent shockwaves through the celeb world, it turns out their split wasn't as sudden as it seemed.
Fern later confessed they'd been growing apart for a good few years towards the end. Speaking to Good Morning Britain in 2020, she shared: "My mum died and my father died and unfortunately Phil and I fell apart." In a heartbreaking run of events, Fern lost both her parents within a short space of time - her dad Tony passed away in December 2019 followed by her mum in April 2018. Barely holding back tears on The Book Club podcast in 2021, Fern openly discussed this massive loss.
