A group of primary school children out on a field trip were left in tears after an XL Bully dog 'went for' and bit one of them.
Eyewitness said the 'huge' and 'out of control' animal, which allegedly wasn't on a lead, 'latched onto' a young girl as teachers desperately tried to pull her away.
Police are now trying to trace the animal and its owners following the incident which has left all those involved 'understandably shaken.'

The drama unfolded at Salford Quays shortly before 11 am yesterday morning (Thursday, October 12). A group of around 20 kids, said to be from a local primary school, who were accompanied by three teachers, were walking over the bridge that crosses the Mariner's Canal from the area next to the Beefeater pub, over the Watersports Centre.
Student Conor Bennett, 19, who goes to university at Media City was walking with three friends when they saw the incident unfold. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, the journalism student who lives in Didsbury said: "We were walking to the Tesco and walked round the back of the Watersports Centre.
"We heard a dog barking and saw it run over the bridge that goes from the Beefeater to the Watersports Centre. There must been 20 plus kids, no older than seven. And this dog was huge. Bigger than them. "And the dog just completely turned on them. It was just chaos.
"It was chasing kids around and they were pressed against the fence and it was making its way up and down the line of kids. The teachers were obviously freaking out
