Taylor Swift‘s music is dissected by her Swifties and the rest of the world with a razor-sharp blade from the very moment it arrives, and one of the most frequently asked questions when it comes to her love songs is who they are about.
Fans did some digging and think that they know the answer to that question for her 2010 song “Sparks Fly,” which is trending again with the recent release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
Citing evidence put together from a MySpace post, they think Taylor is singing about fellow musician Jake Owen. More than a decade after its initial release, he’s weighing in on the rumors!

During a recent interview, he reflected on being involved in the song’s lore.
“It’s a great song and the speculation has always been funny to me,” Jake told People. “I’m sure Taylor probably laughs at it all too, but I’m happy to even have my name in the discussion around it.”
Jake referenced his long connection to Taylor, who he met when she was only 16.
“She’s an amazing girl and an amazing artist,” he said of the hitmaker. “It’s been incredible to see how she’s grown as a musician and what a global phenomenon she’s become.”
If you missed it, another of Taylor‘s exes seemingly responded to the re-release of Speak Now last week. Another one even appeared in one of the star’s new music videos!

Taylor Swift has given out over $55million (£43million) in bonuses to the crew members working on her ongoing ‘Eras Tour’.The news comes after it was reported yesterday (August 1) that the singer had gifted the production truck drivers – responsible for hauling her equipment to each live show – bonuses of $100,000 (£77,000) each. Now, as detailed by People Magazine, the pop superstar has also shared generous amounts of extra income with the remainder of her ‘Eras Tour’ crew, and the total equates to a reported amount of $55million (£43million).The bonuses arrive as Swift is about to wrap up the US leg of her mammoth world tour, with six sold-out shows at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour wasn’t creating enough of a groundswell, Swifties caused such a ruckus during the Seattle, Washington leg that they generated the equivalent of a 2.3 magnitude earthquake — rivaling the legendary “Beastquake” of 2011.“This was much bigger,” Western Washington University geology professor Jackie Caplan-Auerbach told King 5 after comparing the tectonic activity. The groundbreaking phenomenon occurred over the weekend while the “Antihero” singer had performed sold-out back-to-back shows to over 144,000 fans at Lumen Field, the Seattle Times reported.Little did the Grammy winner know that her concert would prove earth-shattering in the seismic sense: The activity from the three-and-a-half-hour marathon caused quite a commotion on a seismometer located next to the stadium, which prompted Caplan-Auerback to conduct a study to see if it surpassed the previous Lumen record caused by the Beastquake. For those unfamiliar with Seattle sports lore, this seminal event occurred in 2011 after Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch scored a touchdown and fans went wild.To see how the two events compared tectonically, Caplan-Auerback first analyzed data from the two Swift shows.
