Interpol’s Paul Banks Forms New Band Muzz, Shares New Song: Listen

Former Frog Eyes leader Carey Mercer has announced his new band Soft Plastics. Mercer has also shared the inaugural single from the project and announced the band’s debut LP 5 Dreams, which will be released via Paper Bag Records. Muzz—the new musical project of Interpol’s Paul Banks, the Walkmen’s Matt Barrick, and Bonny Light Horseman and Day of the Dead’s Josh Kaufman—have shared a brand new song. It’s called “Broken Tambourine” and it marks the trio’s first single on Matador. Watch the accompanying video below.

Quelle Chris has announced a new album that features Earl Sweatshirt, billy woods, Tune-Yards’ Merrill Garbus, Denmark Vessey, Homeboy Sandman, Pink Siifu, comedian Josh Gondelman, and more. It’s called Innocent Country 2 and it arrives April 24 via Mello Music Group. He’s also shared a new track from the record, titled “LIVING HAPPY” (featuring Chicago’s Joseph Chilliams and New Orleans-based rapper Cavalier).

Kehlani has shared a brand new song called “Toxic.” The singer’s latest single of 2020 follows last month’s “Valentine’s Day (Shameful).” Give “Toxic” a listen below.

Composer, artist, and producer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith is back with a new album called The Mosaic of Transformation. It’s out May 15 via Ghostly. Nicolás Jaar has announced his second new album of the year, this one under his own name. Cenizas, which follows Jaar’s 2016 album Sirens and February’s Against All Logic record 2017 – 2019, is out March 27 via Other People. Yaeji is back. The Korean-American producer, DJ, and vocalist has announced her first-ever mixtape, WHAT WE DREW 우리가 그려왔던, which arrives on April 2 via XL. Yaeji has also released the first single from the project, “WAKING UP DOWN,”’ with a new animated video. The video was produced by Studio Yatta and features creative direction/illustration by Annie Zhao in addition to character design by Yaeji herself. Watch that below.

Deeradoorian has announced that her second full-length solo album is coming later this spring. It’s called Find the Sun and it’s out May 22 via her new label home, ANTI-. Sonic Boom, the Spacemen 3 co-founder and producer born Peter Kember, has stayed busy in the past few years. Now, following collaborations with artists including Panda Bear, Beach House, MGMT, and No Joy, Kember has announced his first Sonic Boom album since 1989’s Spectrum.

Jarvis Cocker has announced the debut album from his new band JARV IS…: Beyond the Pale is out May 1 (via Rough Trade).
