With fans over the moon that Call The Midwife character Matthew Aylward is now a series regular, they're now keen to find out more about the man behind the brooding dark and handsome looks, Olly Rix.
The 36 year old became involved in the dramatic society during his time studying English Literature at Trinity College in Oxford. After graduation the wannabe actor was awarded a scholarship to train at the London Academy of Music and dramatic Art.
There, he did some work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and found himself collaborating with a number of esteemed playwrights.
The actor, whose character has finally married Trixie Franklin, played by Helen George, 39, in the latest season is clearly born to play a lothario well - he was born on Valentine's Day.
Olly joined the cast of the BBC hit series in season 10, in 2020, with his character meeting Trixie for the first time when she was delivering his newborn son. Following the death of his wife, Fiona, Trixie supported him through his grieving process and the pair developed a close bond.
This is when viewers realised that Matthew had strong feelings beyond friendship before the characters finally married at the end of series 12.
Off-screen, the actor has had troublesome times with his love life. He split from his longterm love Natasha Fagri in July 2023 after seven years together, however the pair were spotted together at the end of last year enjoying a chat and coffee at a Notting Hill cafe just four months after the split.
The rumour mill has been in full force since last year too, with close co-star Helen George, who has also recently split from her partner, spotted leaving Olly's home.
The pair have been supporting one another as they both navigate their heartbreak. Fans
