India’s Reliance Entertainment Forms Partnership With Mid-Day Infomedia To Produce Content Inspired By Real-Life Stories

EXCLUSIVE: Mumbai-based Reliance Entertainment is joining forces with Indian media group Mid-Day Infomedia in a strategic collaboration to bring real-life stories to the screen.
The two partners will work together to create stories across multiple formats and platforms, including films, web series, documentaries, and other forms of content. The stories will be inspired by real-life events that are reported in Mid-Day, a subsidiary of media conglomerate Jagran Group.
Mid-Day Infomedia publishes three leading newspaper brands in India – Mid-Day English, a niche English-language daily; Inquilab, the highest-read Urdu daily in India; and Mid-Day Gujarati, the second biggest Gujarati newspaper in Mumbai. All three brands are hugely popular in Mumbai, one of the two largest advertising markets in India. Inquilab is circulated in Maharashtra and the states of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Bihar.
The publisher is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jagran Prakashan, which has activities spanning print, radio, outdoor and digital, with brands including Dainik Jagran, Radio City, Mid-Day, Dainik Jagran-inext and Nai Dunia.
Reliance Entertainment invests in and produces film and TV content and has relationships for digital distribution with Netflix, Amazon, Disney+ Hotstar, and other platforms. The company’s recent film productions include Section 84, starring Amitabh Bachchan, and Bholaa, directed by and starring Ajay Devgn. It also recently produced web series Jubilee, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, for Amazon Prime Video.
