Now, fans of the rocker can get their hands on the guitarist's prized possession at auction.
The only remaining founding member of the band, who was born in Glasgow before emigrating to Australia in 1963, is known for his love of Gibson SG - and it's this particular instrument due to go under the hammer alongside more than 200 other items at Propstore next month, reports the Scottish Daily Express.
The six-string is expected to fetch between £60,000 and £120,000, making it one of the most expensive items on sale.
The 68-year-old is famed for his energetic stage performance and bluesy playing style on hits like Highway to Hell, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Shoot to Thrill and You Shook Me All Night Long and with AC/DC has sold more than 250 million albums worldwide.
A jacket used by George Michael in a music video and a beehive hairpiece worn by Amy Winehouse is also among the iconic pieces that will be sold, along with other memorabilia relating to Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Queen, Oasis, Elvis Presley, Johnny Marr and The Beatles.
The Wham! star wore the item of clothing when duetting alongside US singer Aretha Franklin in I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) and is listed between £30,000 and £60,000.
Other high-ticket items such as Jackson’s custom-made photo-matched leather jacket – which featured in a 1984 Pepsi commercial worn by the pop star – are listed for between £200,000 and £400,000. Winehouse’s hairpiece, which she wore for a 2007 music video for her last album Back To Black, is estimated at between £15,000 and £30,000.

His prison identification – which includes his photo, name, ID number, height, and eyes and hair colour – is expected to go for a much higher bid at around $75,000 (£61,860).The ID card is said to be a replacement after the rapper lost his original one.
