shared his foodie favourites with fans on the popular podcast, Off Menu. Naming Soho's The French House as his "favourite place to go and get lunch", he spoke lovingly about their signature dessert; madeleines. "For pudding, the only thing you can get are madeleines, you know? And they freshly bake you for you there," he said.

Obviously, with a far too-easily tempted personality, I soon found myself on the way to Dean Street to visit the actors' hang-out for myself. Although The French House is well-known for being frequented by celebrities, I was the only main character there during my visit.
It was bright and breezy in the burgundy-walled dining room as I sat in the window over Soho, trading taking photos (phones are banned) with admiring the framed French paintings around me. Sitting at my little white-clothed table opposite the wooden bar, it felt like a cosily romantic spot. The kind of romantic setting where a playwright could sit for hours, writing their next tear-jerking sell-out show.
Serving lunch in their upstairs restaurant between 12 and 3, the little room was full by 1:30pm with regulars and newbies alike. I even heard one couple catching up with the waitress as they'd just got back from Australia that morning, "And this is the first stop. " A promising sign for my food, I decided.
