A student has revealed how she's managed to travel around Europe this summer whilst living rent-free, allowing her to save around £3,000. Soriah Abraham, 19, has visited Germany, Switzerland and Amsterdam over the last two months and has spent just £400 over the duration of it as she has not had to pay for any accomodation.
The 19-year-old has been pet-sitting in different homes across the three countries, which means she can live there rent-free in exchange for looking after the homeowner's pets whilst they are away.
Soriah moved to London in October 2022 for her fashion design degree and downloaded a pet-sitting app to earn money whilst studying. She had seen videos of other people using an app which allowed them to stay in homes around the world for free whilst they watched over pets.

The student began doing home sits around London first to build up her reviews so that she would be trusted to secure house sits abroad over the summer break. She did her first house sit in London in November 2022.
"I have two cats back home and I missed them. I wanted to build up my reviews first before I went for the crucial ones in the summer," Soriah, originally from the US, said.
In June 2023, Soriah finished her first year of university and began planning her trip around Europe.
“I went to Stuttgart, Germany, first. I looked after two cats called Tequila and Vodka for two weeks," she said.
"I then headed to Bern, Switzerland, to look after a cat called Claire. It was gorgeous, and the cat was super independent. I also got to use their bikes to travel around."
