Last month, Manchester Evening News reported that high street retailer The Body Shop was giving away free products worth £32 if they said a ‘secret’ code at the till. The deal was spotted on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, and we headed in store to see if it actually worked.
Shoppers who say the code at the checkout can bag themselves a 30ml Drops of Youth serum for free. It’s believed that the beauty retailer is changing the packaging on its popular serum, and is using the deal to shift remaining stock with the old branding.
The popular serum has racked up more than 1,000 five star reviews on The Body Shop website - so I was keen to get my hands on one for myself.

I popped into the Royal Exchange store in Manchester city centre, which is next to the likes of Lush and Hotel Chocolat. I spotted that there were still some of the Drops of Youth concentrate in stock, and that they were retailing for £32.
A description of The Body Shop's £32 Drops of Youth formula reads: "This lightweight serum gives you that fresh-faced, healthy-looking glow we’re all looking for. The kind of skin you had pre-responsibilities, post-lie-in. The gel-like texture sinks in quickly to leave your skin feeling fresher and replenished with moisture.
“A total bonus for busy lives, we’ve also boosted it with protection from indoor and outdoor pollution. It forms a protective layer on skin to help it feel strengthened and suppler – brilliant for you city types.
"A few drops a day is all it takes to help keep skin feeling healthy and looking nice and glowy. Pop a moisturiser on top to help lock in the moisture and you’re good to go."

J. Kim Murphy Daniel Craig brushed up on his voice to shoot “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” sharing that he worked with a coach in order to regain the Southern accent that he used to play detective Benoit Blanc in the first “Knives Out.” “I went away to work with an accent coach for three or four months before we started shooting,” Craig told Empire magazine in the publication’s upcoming profile of “Glass Onion.” “I’d forgotten the accent and I didn’t want to do a pastiche. I wanted to make it as grounded and as anchored in reality as possible.” In the first “Knives Out,” Blanc’s voice is described by the uppity Ransom Drysdale (played by Chris Evans) as a “Kentucky-fried Foghorn Leghorn drawl” — a far cry from Craig’s own British accent, which he employed across his 15-year tenure leading the James Bond series.

Though the cultural zeitgeist is a few years removed from Banksy mania, street art remains a potent weapon for political and social criticism. The relationship between graffiti and vandalism is still hotly contested, but what might happen if an ambitious street artist took his designs even further… like, for instance, into someone’s living room?
