‘I’m Thinking Of Ending Things’ First Look: Charlie Kaufman’s Film Tackles “Loneliness And Hopelessness And Regret”

In the first trailer for I'm Thinking of Ending Things, the latest project from Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind writer Charlie Kaufman, winter is coming, and it may never end for one woman. The Oscar winner's first work as a writer-director since 2015's Anomolisa and first for Netflix, follows a young woman, played by Chernobyl star Jessie Buckley, as she makes a trip with her boyfriend, Jake (Jesse Plemons), to his family's farm.

Charlie Kaufman is one of the world's greatest living screenwriters, but the Oscar-winning writer and director hasn't made a live-action movie since 2008's Synecdoche, New York, because his movies don't make the kind of box office profit studios want. Fortunately for us, Netflix doesn't care about the box office.
