I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is facing chaos after production has been hit with a Covid-19 outbreak just days before the series finale.
The movie length finale is due to take place on Sunday night, as ITV bosses scramble to put in strict safety measures to protect the cast and crew. ITV have been forced to introduce the mandatory use of face masks, after two crew members tested positive for Covid at the beginning of the week.
Producers have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the 2022 series finale is the biggest and best yet, now they face concerns following the outbreak of the virus among crew. An I'm A Celebrity insider said all hands are on deck to try and salvage the final that ITV spent months preparing for, reports The Mirror.
"Everyone is on high alert given it is so close to the end of the series," the source said.
“The producers have grand plans to make the final bigger than ever so no one is seen without a mask and there have been loads more people queueing up to get themselves tested on site.
“The team also closed down the night shift tent which sells snacks and drinks to the crew in order to give it a deep clean. Safety is paramount on a show of this scale and bosses are sure that the strict measures they have in place will mean that the final will still go ahead as planned," the insider told The Sun.
It comes as I'm A Celebrity bosses are aiming to pile on the pressure in the show's highly anticipated final this weekend. The reality show bosses have decided to add extra jeopardy to the final three trials of the series by making the contestants do their last Bushtucker Trials facing off with each other.
