Shaun Ryder appeared to surprise his I'm A Celebrity... South Africa campmates when he shared the real reason for wearing sunglasses when night fell on their first night in camp.
The Happy Mondays star is among several famous faces who swapped their everyday life for another go at the trials and tribulations of living in a camp but this time in South Africa and not the usual location of Australia. Unlike the original format, the new pre-recorded spin-off of the ITV reality series will also not feature a public vote so celebrities will progress as they take on challenges.
Joining Shaun in the series, which is still fronted my Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, is boxing champion Amir Khan; Diversity dancer and DJ Jordan Banjo; TV presenter Carol Vorderman; Olympic athlete Fatima Whitbread; Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan; former royal butler Paul Burrell; ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell and supermodel Janice Dickinson.

During the first episode of the 'All Star' run, Shaun was heard telling his co-stars like Amir that he wasn't wearing shades for the sake of it. The poet and singer said: "I'm not a tw** wearing sunglasses when it's dark. I've got no eyelashes, so all the sh** gets in my eyes."
But Amir reassured him with a pat on the shoulder, telling the singer: "Oh, don't worry!" Carol, however, seemed shocked as she asked: "What?!" And fans also couldn't believe Shaun's admission about not having eyelashes and rushed to Twitter to comment on it during the show.
