Frances Prescott Skincare’s three-in-one ‘Tri Balm’ that claims to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise, I was eager to give it a go. Not only is a three-in-one product of interest to me because it cuts down on the plastic, I’m also super lazy when it comes to my beauty routine. I want something that will give my face a good clean and that will leave it feeling hydrated afterwards.
No small ask really, when a thorough wash often strips the skin and leaves it dry. That said, I was optimistic by the balm’s description, boasting: “a blend of botanical oils, starflower and oats to effectively cleanse removing impurities and make-up including stubborn mascara. Pumpkin seed enzymes gently exfoliate to instantly smooth and brighten, while natural Hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, lock-in moisturiser to plump and hydrate skin all day long.
”The balm itself comes in a handy twist-up stick that you apply to a dry face and rinse away with warm water. I found the best method was to use a muslin or face cloth to get rid of any excess after washing. The fragrance of the balm is worth mentioning too, although I can take or leave a scent to my skincare this has a particularly nice one.
Labelled as ‘geranium and mandarin’, think of a quintessential spa smell. Fresh and floral with a hint of something really relaxing. While I’m pleased to report that the smell doesn’t really linger on the skin once you’ve washed it away, there is a very subtle clean fragrance.
Despite being dubbed a ‘three-in-one’ product, it can also be used in a number of other ways as well as cleansing. It can be used as a mask by leaving it on the face for 10 minutes before washing it off. You can swap out shaving cream and use it as an alternative.
