Ivana Finch, Hull Live's Life Reporter, created her own TikTok account in lockdown out of curiosity and to share her passion for the revival of the 1970S. She now has over 85,000 followers. Here she shares her incredible story, as well as her love of fashion. With the return of the flared sleeves, funky prints and bell bottoms, the revival of the 1970's have been rife, especially in the world of TikTok.
Although fashion trends seems to be returning in a 30-year-cycle, the new generation of social media users have shown an huge interest in the disco generation. It's not just the fashion that millennials have been attracted to, it's also the hairstyles, including the return of the curtain bangs and also the big fluffy 'Farrah Fawcett' style hair, which many have tried to recreate. My love for 1970's fashion stemmed from the music I listened to growing up.

With 70's icons such as Stevie Nicks and Cher, it was difficult not to fall in love with the fashion and the beauty. During the first lockdown in 2020, I graduated from university remotely, holding a homemade graduation in my parents' back garden.
Post-graduation and trying to fill time like many others, I created my TikTok page out of curiosity to see what the hype around this growing social media app was about. Also like so many others, I decided to give myself a homemade haircut, taking inspiration from the likes of Stevie and Farrah.
