The open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will kick off on Friday evening.
However, not everyone will be able to take part in the first round, with the game hosting two separate weeks of early access. Firstly, only PlayStation 4 and 5 players will be able to take part for the first week which means if you're on Xbox or PC, you will have to wait a little longer to get sunk in.
Furthermore, to take part tonight at 6pm British time, you must have pre-ordered the game on PlayStation. Otherwise, the open beta will take place on Sunday, October 8 for the rest of PlayStation players at 6pm British Time.

The beta can be downloaded from the PlayStation store, if you have been given a beta code because you bought Modern Warfare 3 through a retailer, you can also redeem this via the PlayStation store which will initiate the download. However, if you pre-ordered the game then you will not need a beta code to download the beta.
Initially, the beta will include four maps and four game modes for players to enjoy. An additional map will be added on Sunday, October 8 when the open beta becomes available to all PlayStation players.
A level cap of 20 will also be in place for the first weekend to allow players to get used to the new game. Once they reach level 4, they unlock the ability create custom loadouts.
It has also been confirmed that any progress made on your account during the beta period will not carry onto the full game once it's released.
