At the recent Top Gun: Maverick film premiere in London, the Duchess customised her chic £3,000 black and white Roland Mouret gown to make it less revealing at the back. Fashion expert and founder of the Feel Good Fashion Coach, Miranda Holder spoke to OK! more about why the 40 year old does this.

At the premiere, Kate had the visible gold zip on the back of the original dress concealed to create a cleaner look, as well as having fabric added either side of the fastening to remove the mesh panels.
"Whilst being every inch the modern style icon, having a fastening such as a zip on display and sheer panels is a no-no, reminding everyone that there is Royal protocol to adhere to when it comes to dressing for the public eye," added Miranda. "As for making something more regal or fitting for a Princess, this is a very logical and sensible strategy."
