Gavin and Stacey fans were left stunned after seeing a Barry Island legend on the latest episode of the Game Of Thrones prequel show House of the Dragon.
Viewers couldn't believe their eyes when Dave Coaches, played by Steffan Rhodri, appeared in the latest episode of the HBO spin-off . A number of brand new characters have been introduced, including the Hand of the King Ser Otto Hightower's brother, Ser Hobert Hightower played by Steffan.
Fans instantly recognised the familiar face from the BBC British TV sitcom based in Wales, with fans quickly taking to Twitter to express their disbelief. Viewers couldn't believe that the lovable bus driver who ended up stealing Nessa's heart landed in Westeros, writes the Mirror.
“I can forgive Rhys Ifans, but why didn’t they let Dave Coaches speak in his Welsh accent in House of the Dragon,” probed one viewer.
“F**k off is Dave Coaches in House of Dragons hahahaha,” penned another. “Dave Coaches in House of the Dragon? I bloody love it,” said a third. Another viewer added: “Just realised they’ve got Dave from Dave’s Coaches in House of the Dragon.”
Dave Coaches star Steffan has also performed other roles in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as well as Wonder Woman. Speaking of Gavin and Stacey, his co-star James Corden previously told the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show that its return is not up to him.
He said: “The best thing about Gavin and Stacey is that it's Ruth and I and, if I'm being completely honest, her judgement is exceptional. Look, I am going to have a bit more free time next year and that will open some time for us to just be together, I hope."
