what reboots are made of.A writer for the now-axed “Lizzie McGuire” reboot revealed that Hilary Duff’s iconic character would have finally hooked up with her middle school crush Ethan Craft … two times. In a four-part series on TikTok, writer Jonathan Hurwitz revealed that in the series, McGuire (Duff) would have returned to her childhood home after her picturesque life in New York City implodes. At the end of the second episode, McGuire would receive a text message from Craft (Clayton Snyder) “and animated Lizzie faints.” Additionally, the opening of Episode 3, which had not been filmed, depicted Duff, 36, waking up in Craft’s bed wearing his shirt while the animated version of her character pops up with a to-do list and crosses off Craft’s name.
“She checks it off and says something like, ‘Well, checked that box.’ Dramatic pause. ‘Twice,'” Hurwitz said, adding that the scene might have been too mature for Disney.Elsewhere in the video, which has gained 90,000 views, Hurwitz revealed that McGuire and her best pal Gordo (played by Adam Lamberg) would reunite. Fans who dreamed of the pair ending up together, however, would be sadly disappointed.
In the new episodes, Gordo would have told Lizzie that he was engaged and expecting a child. The original Disney series ran from 2001 to 2004.
