Hilary Duff holds on to a copy of “Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party” during a summer reading celebration in Los Angeles on Thursday (June 30).
The 34-year-old How I Met Your Father actress hosted the event, which was in partnership with Epic, the leading digital reading platform for kids ages 3-12, to encourage kids to transport themselves through books this summer.
In addition to book readings, the event also included a dinosaur cookie decorating station, an under the sea mystery themed arts and crafts station, a Cat Ninja obstacle course and more.
“Epic is a great platform with thousands of books that can take you to magical lands this summer. My kids and I will be reading together all summer,” Hilary shared with the crowd.
Rachael Leigh Cook was seen at the event with her two children, Charlotte and Theodore, whom she shares with ex Daniel Gillies.
Epic!’s Go Anywhere Summer Kickoff Celebration also supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Additionally, for each new Epic subscription purchased in July or August, Epic will make a donation to St. Jude.
